This work explores the theme of evolution and the theory that man emerged from the seas.
The figure has a layer of real seaweed kelp as skin. Thousands upon thousands of tiny stitches created this fragile covering and held the skin in place on the sculpture.
The seaweed was cut into shapes to represent the anatomical muscle configuration of human man.
The sculpture existed for a short brief time only as the sea weed rotted or dried up and cracked.
The sculpture was presented as if appearing out of the inky black depths of the deepest sea and time.
